23,000 Brits would still be alive if lockdown had been introduced one week earlier, says damning Covid report

A damning report from the UK Covid-19 inquiry has concluded that government policies have caused 23,000 avoidable deaths during the pandemic. The official Covid-19 inquiry says then Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s response was “too little, too late” and that he failed to appreciate the severity of the threat.
