After almost four years of war, hundreds of thousands of deaths and numerous discussions, peace may now appear to be coming to Ukraine and Trump is therefore one step closer to his coveted Nobel Peace Prize, but that was not without fits and starts. According to US media, the Trump administration is secretly working with Russia on a new 28-point peace plan for Ukraine, inspired by Trump’s Gaza peace deal. The plan covers themes such as peace, security guarantees, European security and future relations between the US, Russia and Ukraine. Steve Witkoff, Trump’s envoy, is negotiating with Russia’s Kirill Dmitriev. Raymond Mens and Wierd Duk join us in the studio for News of the Day.
