Waem is in his third season in The Hague and he is doing well. The left-footed central defender is a strong player at ADO, which won the first period title and is still undefeated after fifteen match days. Since two teams are competing directly in the Kitchen Champion Division and ADO as leader already has a margin of fourteen points, even with one match less played, things look particularly good.

The cracker awaits on the field of Cambuur, the number two, on Friday. Another challenge for Waem, but he has already received a lot of praise this season. “Matteo is strong on the ball, good at building up and reliable. We are happy that he is playing with us,” said his new German coach Robin Peter in September.

Technical director Mark Wotte is therefore trying to keep Waem connected to ADO for longer, which is only logical. As indicated, his contract expires in June and it is not the intention to let him go for free. He has already received an offer, but although he is open to signing, a deal is still pending.

Due to the fact that Groningen – sixth in the Eredivisie – and other clubs are showing interest, Waem is in a luxurious position anyway. So Schalke is there too. The number two in the German second division already thought about him in the summer, but a transfer did not materialize then. Will anything be possible for Antwerp’s youth product in the future?
