In July 2026, ZZ Top will be on German stages again – four times in the open air. Hamburg kicks off on July 2nd in the city park, followed by Friedberg in Hesse on July 3rd, where the band plays at the Friedberg Open Air on the Seewiese. The next day we continue to Northeim to the Waldbühne before the tour comes to an end in Germany on July 13th with an open-air concert at Regensburg’s Jahnstadion.

The exclusive pre-sale begins on November 25, 2025 www.reservix.de.

After a two-year break, ZZ Top are back as headliners. The band around Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard and bassist Elwood Francis – who took over the position of the late Dusty Hill in 2021 – is going on a European tour again. A total of 23 shows in 13 countries are scheduled within five weeks.

ZZ Top: This is how Frank Beard is getting ready for a brilliant comeback

“We are happy that Frank is back at Elwood [Francis, Bassist] and me, BFG, is,” said singer and guitarist Billy Gibbons in a statement from June 2025. Because Frank Beard was in poor health.

“We’ve missed him and are excited to get back to rocking with him like we’ve been doing for a few hundred years. His full recovery is cause for celebration, and that’s exactly what we plan to do for as long as we can. Welcome back, partners!”

Beard added: “It’s good to be back. See you there.”

ZZ Top’s Elevation Tour is fully booked through the summer and into October, with stops at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally on August 1st and the Sea.Hear.Now Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey on September 13th.

Return of a ZZ Top veteran with symbolic meaning

While he’s not the band’s founding member – that title goes to Dan Mitchell, who played in Gibbons’ previous band Moving Sidewalks and played drums on ZZ Top’s first single “Salt Lick” – Beard has been ZZ Top’s drummer for over 55 years, from ZZ Top’s First Album in 1971 up to La Futura from 2012, and has co-written hits like “Legs,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Gimme All Your Lovin'” and “Tush.”
