The prices of raw materials for orange juice have been high, which has also been reflected in consumer prices.

Now world market prices are falling and retail chains have reduced the prices of orange juices.

Lidl says it will lower the prices of several of its own brand orange juices this week. For example, the prices of Solevita orange juices have been reduced by 30 percent. The price of orange nectar sold in a liter package will drop by 60 cents to 1.39 euros. The old price of Nektar was 1.99 euros.

Sales Manager Juhani Haara The S-group supermarket says that the selling prices of orange juices in S-group stores have dropped by an average of about 10 percent from the summer 2025 price level. The prices of individual products have dropped by more than 25 percent.

– Prices are affected by demand and supply as well as several different cost factors in the entire value chain, i.e. raw materials, production costs, packaging materials and logistics. The market and competition situation, as well as taxation, also affect prices, he explains about the mechanism of price generation.

Purchasing and sales manager of the K group Laura Koponen tells via e-mail that the prices of orange juices have started to fall in the big picture since the summer also in K-grocery stores. Before that, prices had time to rise by about 30 percent in a couple of years.

– The consumer prices of orange juices are primarily affected by their purchase prices, which are defined for different periods of time from four months onwards, says Koponen.

It is not known whether the prices of orange juices will fall even more. No chain can comment on future price developments citing the Competition Act.
