Election of the House of Representatives: ‘It is strange that Tom van der Lee is participating in this’
Will it be Martin Bosma again or is it time for a new chairman? The House of Representatives will elect a new chairman on Tuesday. The candidates are the incumbent chairman Martin Bosma (PVV), Thom van Campen (VVD) and Tom van der Lee (GL/PvdA). Van Campen is 35 and could become the youngest Speaker of the House ever. Van der Lee was also a candidate two years ago, but lost to Bosma. Political reporter Pim Sedee is there live. At 1:00 PM there was a debate and the candidates were put through their paces, voting will take place from 6:00 PM. This does not happen publicly, but individually and anonymously. MPs may follow their own preferences and their votes remain secret. There is now a lot of support in the House for the way Bosma has led the House in recent years. BBB, JA21, SGP and 50Plus are enthusiastic about a new term for Bosma.
