The teaching unions have submitted a strike notice for Tuesday, but because Wednesday is an interprofessional strike, teachers can also join it. The Socialist Education Union has also submitted a separate strike notice for Wednesday. The disruption will probably be greatest in community education on Wednesday.
Nancy Libert, general secretary of ACOD Education, emphasizes that a two-day strike is necessary. “There is still discussion about the pension measures. That is why it is necessary to take to the streets now, before it is too late,” she says.
