Steak, hamburgers and minced beef ‘significantly more expensive’ in 2026
Beef, such as steak, hamburgers and ground beef, will become a lot more expensive again next year, after this year’s sharp price increases. This is partly because more and more farms in the Netherlands are disappearing due to nitrogen regulations. “Livestock farms are now being bought out, so the availability of meat is expected to become even less. As a result, prices will rise,” says Marian Lemsom, director of Royal Dutch Butchers (KNS).
