First images: enormous conflagration after a violent explosion in Argentina

A large explosion occurred during a fire on a business park on the outskirts of the Argentine capital Buenos Aires on Friday evening. The incident happened in the town of Carlos Spegazzini, Buenos Aires province. Eyewitness images filmed from a moving vehicle on a nearby road show a large blaze lighting up the night sky and smoke rising from the burning complex. The smell of burning plastic could be smelled from miles away. The explosion was caused by a fire in three buildings where agricultural chemicals were stored, a local fire brigade officer told Reuters news agency.
