Exactly ten years ago on Thursday, 130 people were killed in a series of terrorist attacks across the French capital. France was playing a friendly match against Germany at the Stade de France at the time of the attacks. One person was killed near the stadium. Most deaths occurred in the Le Bataclan concert hall.
“We want to remember everyone who has lost loved ones, who has been affected, who has been hurt, both mentally and physically,” Mbappé said. “We will try to honor all these people by putting a smile on the faces of those who come to the stadium, even though we know it is not a happy day.”
Before the match, a minute’s silence will be held in memory of the victims.
