Bundesliga club apparently has Bayern manager on the list

VfL Wolfsburg has already parted ways with its coach. But there could also be movement with regard to other personnel.
Once again, VfL Wolfsburg is starting from the beginning. Despite the high budget and the many expenses, the Lower Saxony team are in 14th place after ten Bundesliga match days and are only one point ahead of the relegation place. Coach Paul Simonis has already had to leave, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the situation has been resolved.
According to “Sport Bild”, sports director Sebastian Schindzielorz is also counted. He was not mentioned in the press release for the Simonis separation. An early separation is conceivable, an extension of the expiring contract is even unimaginable. The main reason is the former Bochum native’s disappointing squad planning.
According to “Sport Bild”, Wolfsburg wants to have found a successor by the winter break. The sports magazine names Sven Mislintat (formerly BVB, Stuttgart) and Jonas Boldt (formerly Leverkusen, HSV) as candidates. But the name of Bavaria’s Christoph Freund is also mentioned. Accordingly, the Austrian is part of the list of possible managers for the “Wolves”. Perhaps he would have more power in the role of sports director than Schindzielorz. Managing director Peter Christiansen should at least give up some influence.
Would Freund actually take the step from Munich to Wolfsburg? Rather unlikely. Because he is already the sports director at FC Bayern, the bigger club. Only if Wolfsburg could show him a clear path to advancement would that be conceivable if his friend wanted to give up Munich and thus the proximity to his homeland of Austria.
