JENOPTIK had less sales and earnings in the third quarter due to the uncertain industry situation, but recorded significant growth in incoming orders.
Nevertheless, the TecDAX-listed company was once again somewhat more pessimistic for the year as a whole.
According to the announcement, sales fell by 7 percent to 255 million euros in the three months. EBITDA fell disproportionately by 10 percent to 53.0 million euros, the corresponding margin was 20.8 (21.6) percent. Analysts’ consensus was only expecting an operating return of 18.7 percent. The group’s EBIT fell by almost 19 percent to 33.3 million euros and the group result after taxes reached 21.7 million euros, a loss of a good 18 percent.
According to the quarterly report, order intake climbed significantly by 18.3 percent to 304.5 million euros in the three months.
The outlook for 2025 continues to be influenced by high levels of market uncertainty, the company also announced. Sales will therefore now be at the lower end of the forecast range – between the previous year’s value and minus 5 percent. The EBITDA margin should also reach the lower end of the forecast – 18.0 to 19.5 percent. JENOPTIK expects expenses for cost-cutting measures to be in the high single-digit million euro range.
JENOPTIK shares have recovered significantly – DZ: ‘Biophotonics Star of the Quarter’
JENOPTIK shares are approaching their interim highs from October on Wednesday after quarterly figures with a price increase of over 10 percent.
In XETRA trading, the JENOPTIK share was temporarily up a strong 8.45 percent at 20.18 euros. In 2025, however, this still means a minus of ten percent. “Biophotonics is the star of the third quarter,” wrote analyst Dirk Schlamp from DZ Bank in his first comment.
In this segment, the Jena-based company offers solutions in the area of light sources and imaging systems for life science and medical technology. Overall, JENOPTIK’s order intake convinced Schlamp.
