He’s coming, he’s coming! But will Sinterklaas arrive in Zoetermeer in the rain or can the good saint and his helpers parade through the city dry? Rico Schröder from Weeronline.nl looks ahead.

Perhaps the Big Book of Sinterklaas contains something about the weather forecast, but according to the latest calculations the wind will come from the north and northeast. In other words: it’s getting colder.

Hand full of gingerbread nuts or gloves?

Rico confirms this: “With the wind from the north, the cold will enter our country. It will be colder in the north by about 7 degrees compared to 11 to 12 degrees in the south. According to the calculations, it will still be fairly mild on Saturday and temperatures will drop below 10 degrees from Sunday.” So put on a warm Pete hat or miter when you go to the arrival!

Pete suit or Pete poncho?

Do the Piets have to wear a poncho or can they just take to the streets in their colorful suits? According to Rico, this is still uncertain: “It will be a changeable weekend, but we cannot yet see whether it will rain on Saturday or Sunday. It is also not yet certain whether there will be showers or longer rain periods.” The weather is still uncertain, but what is certain is that Santa Claus will arrive in Zoetermeer!

To get into the Sinterklaas spirit:

Whether the sun shines or it drips with rain,
the weather doesn’t stop Santa.
Take a change of clothes with you and wear something warm,
then you can go to the Zoetermeerse arrival without any problems!
