In the Champions League, Jule Brand and Lyon will face her former club Wolfsburg. But it’s not just the national player who is dedicated to football in her family.
On Tuesday evening, VfL Wolfsburg will face top club Lyon in the Women’s Champions League (from 9 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online) – with Jule Brand there. The 23-year-old has been under contract with the French women since this summer. The German international previously played for VfL Wolfsburg for three years.
Now it’s time for Brand to reunite with her old employer and some DFB colleagues. Certainly a special moment for the German offensive hope, who has not yet scored a goal for Lyon in the French league, but has already been successful in the premier class. More goals should follow soon and lead to titles at the end of the season.

Hardly anyone in the family is surprised that Jule Brand is getting off to such a start in football. Her brother Felix Brand is also committed to sport – albeit on a different path.
The 24-year-old played for FSV Zwickau in the 3rd league from 2021 to 2023. He then moved to TuS Mechtersheim in the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar. Over time, however, Felix Brand sustained several injuries, which is why he changed his career direction. Leaving his active career as a professional football player behind, he pursued a coaching career.
Felix Brand is now an assistant coach. Since April he has been employed at VFC Plauen, a club that fought for sporting survival last season. On Brand’s debut in the Regionalliga Nordost, the bottom team at the time, Plauen, managed a 0-0 draw against Babelsberg. But in the end it wasn’t enough to stay in the league. Plauen was relegated. Felix Brand, together with head coach Sedat Gören, is now driving the club forward again in the Northeast-South Oberliga. Plauen is currently in sixth place.
So while Jule Brand operates at the top international level and won bronze at the 2024 Olympic Games, Felix Brand is working on his coaching career – with passion, ambition and the understanding of football that is obviously anchored in the family. The next game for Plauen is scheduled for November 22nd. Then it’s at home against RSV Eintracht 1949.
