Formula 1, Brazilian GP: the comment by Leclerc, Antonelli, Norris and Verstappen

Extremely bitter Brazil for Ferrari, which closed the Interlagos weekend with the double retirement of Leclerc and Hamilton. If the Englishman experienced a tormented weekend, the Monegasque instead started from third place and left the scene after the collision between Piastri and Antonelli. This is his comment at the end of the race: “I’m very upset: there was nothing risky about my maneuver, I would do it another twenty times. They clearly made a mistake on the inside: Piastri was optimistic, but Antonelli had space and took a turn as if Oscar wasn’t there. Maybe Kimi could have done something more to avoid contact…”. An anger also shared by team principal Vasseur: “Charles paid a very high price: a shame because we also had a good pace.”

Weekend to remember, however, for Kimi Antonelli, second in both the Sprint and the long race after resisting Verstappen’s final assault: “I don’t know where Verstappen came from, I’m honest, I didn’t expect to find him there – his words at the end of the race -. It was a bit stressful facing a champion like him, who also had the freshest tyres, but in the end with the clean air we managed to have a good pace”. However, the dominator of the weekend is Lando Norris, who is increasingly oriented towards the World Championship: “I pushed hard and the result was a fantastic weekend: I tried to concentrate on what I had to do, without paying attention to the bullshit that some people said and say about me. I’m really satisfied with this weekend”.

Starting from the pit lane, Max Verstappen made yet another comeback to the lowest step of the podium. “The race was quite eventful – the Dutchman commented -. I had to make a lot of overtaking and it was difficult to get through the traffic: finishing just 10″ behind Norris is something incredible, which I honestly never expected. I am proud of the team’s work.”
