The 24-year-old woman from Oss who was injured in a shooting in Rotterdam on Saturday night died on Sunday. The police arrested a 28-year-old man from Nijmegen on Saturday night because of that shooting. A second suspect is still being sought.
A spokesperson for the Rotterdam police confirmed on Sunday evening that ‘the victim died in hospital at the end of the afternoon’.
The shooting took place around a quarter to two at night on Kralingseplein in or near a car. Several ambulances, a fire engine and police cars were deployed. A police helicopter was also used to search. The woman was resuscitated at the scene of the shooting and taken to hospital in critical condition.
Second suspect ran away
The police previously spoke of two arrested people. The second detainee turned out to have nothing to do with the shooting. Police are still looking for a second suspect who ran away after the shooting. The police are also asking anyone who saw or heard anything to come forward.
