Exciting Bundesliga Saturday: Hamburger SV managed to keep Borussia Dortmund in check at home and secured a 1-1 draw. BVB was in the lead for a while, but shortly before the end Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer caused pure joy in Hamburg. The draw means RB Leipzig remains second in the table.
However, the afternoon was different for the Saxons: Second in the table had to accept a defeat – the first after eight unbeaten games. Leipzig suffered a 3-1 defeat at TSG Hoffenheim. 1. FC Heidenheim was also dismantled by Bayer Leverkusen, losing 6-0.
Hamburger SV made things extremely difficult for the guests from Dortmund. The home team threw themselves into the duels, as did the guests, so that it was a competitive but rather calm game until half-time. The hosts also showed strong will in the second half and repeatedly prevented attacks from coach Niko Kovač’s team.
In the 64th minute, however, the time had come: Carney Chukwuemeka redeemed his team and BVB took a 1-0 lead. However, HSV still had chances afterwards, including through Robert Glatzel (76th). Shortly before the end it got extremely loud in Hamburg when Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer equalized to 1-1 (90th + 7) in stoppage time.
Less than ten minutes had been played when the guests from Leipzig were able to celebrate. Because top talent Yan Diomande scored to take the lead 1-0 (9th). However, the joy about it only lasted for a short time. In the 20th minute the hosts equalized again through Albian Hajdari, much to the enthusiasm of the crowd. 26,251 spectators were in the Sinsheim stadium.
Shortly before the end of the first half it got even louder in Sinsheim when Tim Lemperle made it 2-1 for Hoffenheim. In the second half, Christian Ilzer’s team also managed to make it 3-1 through Grischa Prömel (79′). Shortly afterwards, however, the hosts made a mistake that Rômulo took advantage of (82′). However, the goal did not count due to the offside position. For Leipzig it is the first defeat after eight unbeaten games in a row.
