Jonker thus suggests that he might also retire. “I then chose Telstar for fun. The same applies to the Dutch women’s team. That is the most important thing. That is what I am going to do now. And I am certainly not going to bend over backwards to get a job. It really has to suit me with good people, a good plan and a good club in a good country.”
Abroad is therefore always an option. “But not on the other side of the world.”
From Barcelona to London to Velsen-Zuid
Jonker was trainer and technical director of Telstar from 2019 to the summer of 2022. He subsequently became national coach of the Dutch women’s team. He also worked at FC Barcelona, Arsenal and VfL Wolfsburg.
