The producers of the upcoming Beatles biopics have officially announced which actresses will portray the famous partners of the Fab Four in the films planned for 2028.

Star cast around the Fab Four

“The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event” casts the previously announced Saoirse Ronan as Linda Eastman McCartney, Anna Sawai (“Shōgun”) as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood (“The White Lotus”) as Pattie Boyd and Mia McKenna-Bruce (“How to Have Sex”) as Maureen Cox Starkey.

The four actresses join Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Harris Dickinson (John Lennon), Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr) and Joseph Quinn (George Harrison). Directed by Sam Mendes.

“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique individuals. I am thrilled that we have been able to attract four of the most talented actresses of our time to this extraordinary project,” Mendes said in a statement.

The women behind the Beatles

“Maureen Cox (Mia McKenna-Bruce) was an early Beatles supporter who met Ringo Starr at the Cavern Club in 1962. Their romance developed quickly. They married in 1965 and had three children. Linda Eastman (Saoirse Ronan) was an acclaimed photographer when she met Paul McCartney in 1967. It was love at first sight. McCartney later said: ‘When I first met her “I just knew,” the producers said in their statement.

John Lennon first met Japanese artist Yoko Ono (Anna Sawai) at an exhibition of her work in London. Even though Lennon was married at the time, he was immediately fascinated by Yoko. The two became inseparable creative partners for the rest of his life. Pattie Boyd (Aimee Lou Wood) was a successful model when she met George Harrison while filming the Beatles film “A Hard Day’s Night” in 1964. The two began a relationship. They later married and shared Harrison’s growing interest in Eastern mysticism.

More roles to follow

Producers announced that the cast of other key figures from the Beatles universe – including Cynthia Lennon, Brian Epstein, George Martin, Ravi Shankar and others – will be announced at a later date.

The Beatles biopics are scheduled to hit theaters in April 2028.
