Liam Gallagher has harshly criticized a fan who lit Bengalos at Marvel Stadium during the Oasis concert in Melbourne, Australia on Friday. In a post on social media, he called the person a “completely disturbed human being.”

Flares in the audience during “Champagne Supernova”

“To the huge WICHER who threw a flare into the crowd at the Melbourne show last night. Fu you are a seriously disturbed human being. And you will get your due, believe me,” Gallagher wrote on Platform X after the performance.

The torches were lit during the concert’s finale at Champagne Supernova, the first date of the Australian tour. (The band plays there on November 1st and 4th before moving on to Sydney to play Accor Stadium on November 7th and 8th.)

Video footage of the sold-out concert shows a flare being fired from the crowd, flying into the interior and falling to the ground. Shortly afterwards, flames ignited in the area. A second flare was also fired. She landed very close to the audience.

Eyewitness reports the incident

A concert-goer named Virginia told the Australian platform news.com.au that she saw two torches. “Every time you saw the flash, it looked like a fire, but then it was put out pretty quickly,” she said. Virginia, who was at the first Oasis concert in Australia with her 13-year-old daughter, added: “When that happened I thought this was dangerous. We left before the end of the song and just wanted to get out.”

It is unclear how the flares were brought into the stadium. Virginia confirmed to news.com.au that bags were checked and visitors were scanned before entry.

Police: No reports, no injuries

According to 9 News Australia, Victoria State Police said the incident was unreported and no arrests were made. Marvel Stadium told 9 News that no one was injured. “We will leave public comments to Liam Gallagher’s input,” the venue added.
