Jakob Ingebrigtsen is a star of athletics. However, the world record holder is already planning for the future and has now bought a property in nature.
He is a two-time Olympic champion and holds the world record for the 3,000 meters. But athletics star Jakob Ingebrigtsen is not only interested in the tartan track, but also in nature. The running ace repeatedly gives private insights into his everyday life with his wife and daughter on Instagram. The family is often out in the countryside. Ingebrigtsen can imagine a life in the country even after her sporting career – and has now bought a farm.
The 25-year-old reported this to the Norwegian public broadcaster NRK. “I’ve always dreamed of living on a small farm,” said the Norwegian, who also admits: “But it’s not always easy to convince my wife. She loves city life very much.”
Why did he still buy the property? “I had the opportunity to buy a beautiful farm, not far from where I live and where I was born. You don’t get opportunities like this every day,” said Ingebrigtsen. According to NRK, the farm is said to be located near Sandnes and cost around 12 million Norwegian crowns (around one million euros).
According to the NRK, there is a residential building, a garage and an outbuilding on the property. The land is currently rented for growing grass, grain and potatoes.
The two-time world champion emphasized: “I won’t be an athlete all my life. That’s why it’s about securing opportunities for the future. That’s great.” Ingebrigtsen enjoys his time away from the tartan track with his family. “No matter what happens, it’s nice to come home to them and spend time with them,” said the exceptional athlete.
In terms of sport, things haven’t gone as hoped for Ingebrigtsen recently. At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in September, he failed in the preliminary round of the 1,500 meters. After his gold successes in the 5,000 meters in 2022 and 2023, he did not win any precious metal this year.
