With a very uneven balance between outbound and inbound tourism, Argentina has established itself as a key player in the region, and Caribbean countries see exponential growth in Argentine visitors in this market. Summer 2026 is projected with great demand for tourist packages to different traditional Caribbean points; although everything indicates that Jamaica will be the new preferred destination for Argentines to vacation.
The strong increase in outbound tourism from Argentines to the Caribbean in the last two years is no longer new. For example, the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana) between January and April 2025 received more than 163,000 Argentines. Aruba appears as another of the most chosen destinations: until August 2025, more than 44,000 Argentines had traveled to Aruba, an increase of 128% compared to the previous year, making Argentina the main Latin American market for the island. Cancun in Mexico continues to be positioned among the Caribbean points historically preferred by Argentines: between January and February of this year alone, 87,000 Argentines arrived in the country, a year-on-year increase of 26%.
The Caribbean registered a significant increase in Argentine visitors during 2025, placing the country in third place in the ranking of issuers, only behind the United States and Canada. This trend was something that had already been occurring in recent years despite successive economic recessions. Everything indicates, due to the large number of inquiries and the number of closed packages that we have already sold, that by summer 2026 the Caribbean will continue to be the preferred one for Argentines.
Connectivity, prices and trust. One of the key factors that explains this growth is the relative improvement in air connectivity to the Caribbean, with an increase in the offer of direct flights and the number of frequencies from different Argentine airports. Added to this is the greater competitiveness in the prices of tourist packages, favored by the wide availability of all-inclusive packages that allow families to anticipate their expenses in an uncertain economic context. Financing plans also influence, which have become a fundamental tool so that more travelers can complete their vacations abroad.
Another determining aspect is the attractive climate of the Caribbean, which offers warm temperatures and paradisiacal beaches throughout the year, contrasting with the cold months in the Southern Cone. This makes the destination an ideal refuge for Argentines looking to escape the local winter or take advantage of the summer in tropical settings. Likewise, the perception of safety and hospitality in the main Caribbean destinations, added to the increasingly varied cultural and gastronomic offer, contribute to the Caribbean becoming the preferred choice for Argentine tourists.
Jamaica, the revelation of the last year. More and more families are looking for Jamaica as an alternative for their vacations, even above traditional destinations such as Cancun or Punta Cana. Among the main reasons we see, we can mention its cultural proposal, exuberant nature and resorts with all-inclusive services designed for all ages.
In the last year, Jamaica has positioned itself as the great revelation of the Caribbean, driven by a growing interest from families and groups seeking more authentic and differentiated experiences. Compared to other more crowded destinations, the island offers a unique combination of tropical landscapes, along with a strong cultural component, marked by reggae music, Rastafarian tradition and a cuisine that mixes African, European and local influences. These aspects give it a distinctive appeal for those who not only seek rest, but also a closer contact with the Caribbean identity.
Another key element is the investment in tourism infrastructure that Jamaica has made in recent years, with the opening of high-end family resorts in areas such as Montego Bay and Negril, which offer all-inclusive services adapted to different age ranges. In addition, the island has diversified its offer of activities: excursions to waterfalls such as Dunn’s River, tours of historic plantations, visits to music museums and adventure tourism proposals in the jungle. All of this has allowed Jamaica to go from being a niche destination to consolidating itself as a competitive alternative to classics such as Cancun or Punta Cana, especially among Argentine travelers seeking to combine relaxation with unique cultural and natural experiences.
The experience of the Argentine traveler. The rise of destinations like Jamaica or Aruba is partly explained because many of the Argentines who choose them today have already previously traveled to Punta Cana and are looking to live a different experience without losing the comfort of the Caribbean. Although Mexico with Cancun and Riviera Maya appears as another natural alternative, the perception of insecurity in some of its main tourist centers has generated a certain withdrawal. In this scenario, islands like Jamaica and Aruba are positioned as fresh and attractive options, with beaches of international quality, first-class hotel infrastructure and the tranquility that families increasingly value when deciding on their vacations.
There are all-inclusive packages at very affordable prices, from USD 1,600 per person with flights, hotel and transfers, which makes these destinations a choice that combines novelty, safety and good value for money. Costs vary considerably—with proposals that combine flights from Buenos Aires, hotel and all-inclusive—depending on the agency and package category; and mainly, with the advance notice with which the trip is contracted.
In Yes, I travel We do not simply sell trips: what we offer is peace of mind and confidence; the best combination of service, quality and value, always working with top-level hotels and airlines.
