Liverpool FC have suffered several defeats in a row. According to Didi Hamann, this could have consequences for the coach and Florian Wirtz.

The reigning English champions are having problems getting back on track. Liverpool FC has lost the last four games and has to hope for a win against Aston Villa on Saturday (from 9 p.m. in the t-online live ticker). The Reds are in seventh place in the Premier League table. In addition, the team has already been eliminated from the League Cup. According to Didi Hamann, the crisis could also have consequences for DFB star Florian Wirtz.

In addition to Aston Villa, there are also games against Real Madrid in the Champions League and the league duel against Manchester City. According to Hamann, coach Arne Slot’s club has “three real goals in front of it, and Liverpool cannot afford to lose any more after six competitive defeats in the last seven games.” Hamann also emphasized on Sky: “Otherwise it will be very tight for the coach.”

This could also have consequences for Florian Wirtz, says Hamann. “If Wirtz continues to remain as anonymous as before, something will happen in Liverpool. There will certainly be considerations as to how long we can continue with him,” said the Sky expert.

The German international moved from Leverkusen to England in the summer for 125 million euros and has not yet scored a goal for the “Reds” in the Premier League. He contributed two assists in the Champions League against Eintracht Frankfurt, but is still waiting for his first goal with Jürgen Klopp’s former club.

Arne Slot recently said about his protégé on Sky: “When you come for so much money, people primarily look at goals and assists. But I can say that he could have had six or seven assists.” The coach also explained: “Basically, it’s pretty normal for a 22-year-old that you have to adapt to a new country, especially when you go to the Premier League.”

For his former club Bayer Leverkusen, Wirtz played 197 times for the professionals from 2020 to 2025 and scored 57 goals. He also made 65 assists.
