Sydney Sweeney was honored at the Variety Power of Women Event alongside Jamie Lee Curtis, Nicole Scherzinger, Wanda Sykes and Kate Hudson for their achievements as a power woman in media and entertainment.

The biopic about the boxer, for which the 28-year-old actress gained around 14 kilograms of muscle mass according to “Stern”, will be released in US cinemas on November 7th. It is expected to start in Germany in 2026.
It wasn’t just Sweeney’s award that caused a stir, but also her look, which caught everyone’s attention that evening in Los Angeles. The 28-year-old presented herself on the red carpet in a silver glitter dress, the top of which was almost completely transparent. Sweeney went without a bra.

Since her advertising campaign for American Eagle, Sweeney has been considered an American sex symbol and has received both praise and criticism for her confident appearance. “It’s okay to use what mom gave you. That’s really okay,” the actress of “Basic Instinct” and “Euphoria” fame told People in the context of Sweeney’s hotly debated campaign for American Eagle. “It’s hard to be hot, and I think we all know that. It’s really okay to use every bit of hotness you have – right here, right now – and give it your all, because everyone has their own kind of hotness, their own specialness, and you should live that out too. Because who are you that you can’t be beautiful? Who you are isn’t an accident.”

Stone said she was in touch with Sweeney and compared her to the late researcher Jane Goodall. “When Jane was on the cover of Life magazine for her work with gorillas, she was wearing her safari shorts and her safari shirt and sitting next to one of the animals she was working with. Other scientists said she only made it on the cover of Life magazine because she has nice legs. And Jane said, Well, if that’s the case, then that helped me get more money for my research.”
Sweeney and Stone will appear together in the third season of Euphoria. The new episodes are currently in production.
Sweeney has already heard a lot about her “sex appeal” on social media. The debates about her body are often absurd and sometimes hurtful, she recently admitted in an interview with Variety. However, she doesn’t let this intimidate her. “I play a lot of very polarizing characters and I think a lot of people think they know me – but they don’t.”
Her goal is to empower women rather than apologize for their femininity: “I hope that I can inspire other women to be confident and just show what they have and feel good about themselves, because you shouldn’t have to apologize or hide or cover up in any room.”
