The sustainably-oriented womenswear brand Les Lunes is bankrupt.
Les Lunes GmbH has applied to the responsible district court in Charlottenburg to initiate self-administration proceedings, the Berlin company announced on Friday. The application has already been accepted and the provisional self-administration has been confirmed. Attorney Torsten Martini from the Görg law firm was appointed as the provisional administrator.
The reason for the insolvency is the tense overall economic situation and the associated cautious consumer behavior, which have had “significant influences” on the company’s liquidity in recent months.
With the self-administration process, Les Lunes now wants to overcome the current economic challenges and position itself for the future. The company is supported in this by the restructuring expert Alexander Dietel from the consulting firm Falkensteg, who has been appointed to the management board. He will work together with the existing management team around Benjamin Höhner and the restructuring attorney Nadja Raiß from the law firm K&L Gates and examine available restructuring options.
“Self-management gives us the opportunity to push ahead with necessary restructuring measures and enable the company to restart,” says Dietel. “We want to position Les Lunes so that it can operate efficiently and sustainably on the market in the future.”
Business operations continue without restriction during the process. The 36 employees will receive insolvency benefits from the employment agency for a period of three months instead of their wages and salaries. Yesterday you were informed about the current situation and how to proceed.
