The telecommunications group Vodafone is strengthening its cloud and cybersecurity business with an acquisition in Germany.

According to a statement on Thursday, Vodafone is taking over the Munich-based provider of cloud service solutions Skaylink for a total purchase price that corresponds to an enterprise value of 175 million euros. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of March 2026.

With the acquisition, management wants to position itself more strongly in the areas of cloud and security. Skaylink’s more than 500 cloud specialists will work closely with Vodafone’s experts in the future. Skaylink will continue to operate on the market under this name, but the technical processes will be standardized.

After the launch of the cybersecurity headquarters in March, the takeover of Skaylink is the next milestone in Vodafone’s strategic realignment in the business customer sector, the group said.

Vodafone wants to grow primarily in future technologies. According to the announcement, business customer sales should be increased by one billion euros in five years. According to reports, this corresponds to a percentage increase in the mid-double-digit range. Vodafone itself did not provide any information about this.

In London, Vodafone shares were temporarily 0.4 percent higher at 0.9130 pounds.
