Leontine Ruiters and her children did not appear at the court in Utrecht yesterday morning, where dad Marco Borsato was on trial. Will they still come tomorrow? “I think there’s a good chance.”
There was a lot of speculation in advance about how Marco Borsato would make his entrance to the Utrecht court. Would Leontine Ruiters and their children also come along or not? Ultimately we saw the fallen singer arriving with the lawyer couple Knoops. His ex-wife and their children support him, but were not present.
Where is Leontine?
Presenter Tooske Ragas thinks that is a bit crazy. “His family was not there and I thought that was striking,” says the presenter Show news.
Private boss Evert Santegoeds then: “That could be different on Thursday. I can also imagine Leontine, who always thought: I was never there, why should I be there now. The children have also made no secret of their support for their father.”
Cat from the tree
Evert thinks that Leontine and the children want to take a look first. “Maybe they thought: let’s see how things go on the first day, and the defense will speak on Thursday. That is of course more pleasant to listen to as a family than to the public prosecutor today.”
He continues: “I don’t rule it out completely. They have always supported him so much that I think they can give him some support again and then Thursday would be an excellent moment.”
Burning candle
Marco’s loved ones have said something on their social media. “Daughter Jada placed a burning candle with an angel statue. That would be associated with calmness and spiritual connection. Her brother placed a heart, so those were the children.”
Tooske concludes: “Well, that’s tough for them too.”
