Who will drive alongside Max Verstappen at Red Bull in the coming Formula 1 season? While the team is postponing its plans, RTL expert Christian Danner names his favorite.

A lot has already been clarified for the coming year in Formula 1. But who will drive in the second racer from Red Bull Racing and in the Racing Bulls is currently still open. There is plenty of speculation. Yuki Tsunoda’s time is almost certainly over after the meager points haul this year; rookie Isack Hadjar was repeatedly mentioned as a candidate.

The matter is also not trivial: “The second car at Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen is of course a very difficult matter. So far, almost everyone who drove alongside him – with the exception of perhaps Daniel Ricciardo – has gone under,” explains F1 expert Christian Danner RTL/ntv and sport.de.

Danner still sees a youngster in a promising position to become Yuki Tsunoda’s possible heir.

“This place is not necessarily that coveted. However, there is exciting young talent at Red Bull: Arvid Lindblad. He has already shown a very strong Friday, and I could imagine that he is the hottest candidate for this place.”

Formula 1: Red Bull changes plans

Red Bull recently changed its previous personnel plans. “Everything is being pushed back,” explained motorsport consultant Helmut Marko on “Sky”. “Also the drivers for the Racing Bulls, because the whole focus is on the World Cup.”

Originally, the decisions about the second Red Bull and the two Racing Bulls cockpits were supposed to be made after the Mexican GP – now the possible candidates have to be patient.

Regardless of whether it’s Yuki Tsunoda, Isack Hadjar, Liam Lawson or Red Bull Junior Arvid Lindblad: They will have to wait until after the season finale in Abu Dhabi until they get clarity about their Formula 1 future. If Red Bull’s plan works, there will be a cockpit alongside five-time world champion Verstappen.
