Boektopia is the largest temporary bookstore in Flanders, with thousands of titles from no fewer than 130 publishers. Visitors will find absolutely everything, from novels to non-fiction, cookbooks, children’s books, comics and even coloring books and board games.
New this year is the fiction scavenger hunt: a search through ten scenes from books. Anyone who solves the riddles has a chance to win a package of ten books.
You can also join intimate book club moments. On Saturday, Linde Merckpoel brought together 15 book friends via Instagram to talk about the book “All Lovers of the Night” by Mieko Kawakami.
The popular author duo Yasmine Van Den Meersch & Jonas De Backer, known from BookTok, will also sign their books for several days and receive fans during an exclusive fan club meeting on Friday, October 31. “It’s such a crazy feeling to be here, and it’s also nice that books bring so many people together,” says Yasmine.
For those who find it difficult to choose, there is the ‘blind date with a book’ promotion. Buy a wrapped book without knowing what title it contains, and thus support The Warmest Week.
And on November 1, Boektopia hopes to bring more than 500 people together with a major reading campaign to read at the same time.
