The tricolors conquer the Igor pitch still without Tolok with a clear 3-0. Perugia wins at the tie break in Cuneo, Chieri overwhelms Bergamo

Blangetti-Corbetta-Palermo

October 25 – 10.24pm – MILAN

Three previews for the fifth day of the women’s A1 championship. The tricolors clearly beat Novara who still have to do without Tolok. Perugia conquers Cuneo in the tie break while Chieri overwhelms Bergamo. Tomorrow four games to close the day. Meanwhile, Milan has formalized the hiring of Vita Akimova, a Russian striker who has just returned from a long injury and was part of Novara’s squad until last year.

novara-conegliano 0-3 (20-25, 17-25, 21-25)

At the Pala Igor in Novara, Prosecco Doc wins clearly 3-0. The Panthers didn’t give up even an inch during the three sets, closing the match in less than an hour and a half. Superiority in blocking, effective serving and greater precision in attack allowed the Venetians to inflict their first defeat of the season on Novara. Haak puts the ball down 20 times (53% in attack), Lubian makes 3 aces and two blocks, Gabi has space throughout the attack and defends very well in the reception phase. The mosquitoes don’t bite as they should, Herbots scores 11 points, Igiede 9 and Mims 7. With this victory Imoco places itself at the top of the table with 14 points, overtaking Igor Gorgonzola Novara which stops at 11.

Novara: Herbots 11 points, team blocks 1, team aces 2

Conegliano: Haak 20 points, team blocks 6, team aces 7 (3 Lubian).

cuneo-perugia 2-3 (25-27, 25-23, 25-16, 15-25, 8-15)

Setback for Honda Cuneo Granda Volley who lost in the fifth set against Bartoccini-Mc Restauri Perugia at the end of a match with a thousand faces. The hosts, in fact, seem to direct the match well despite an uphill start, but in the end it is the guests who have the upper hand: after a first set largely spent chasing, reopened at the end but ending with the Umbrians ahead, and a second set won but hard fought, in the third the Cuneo players imposed their game, driven above all by Pucelj (nine points in the third set alone, she will be the best scorer of the match at the end of the match with 22). At 2-1 for Cuneo, however, the balance changes. In the fourth set the Umbrian coach Giovi pulls out the Markovic card in place of Williams, who is declining. Cuneo defends well against the block and the game becomes more intense (9-9) but shortly afterwards Perugia begins its climb which – accompanied by Gardini (MVP of the match), the most constant of her team – brings the verdict to a tie-break, giving the previous set back to the sender. In the fifth set the guests immediately took the lead (6-10) and took two points and a very important victory for the standings. Cuneo is satisfied with one point and slows down after three victories and an excellent start to the championship.

Wedge: Pucelj 22 points, team blocks 9 (4 Cecconello), team aces 5

Perugia: Gardini 19 points, team blocks 12 (4 Bartolini, 3 Mazzaro), team ace 1.

CHIERI-BERGAMO 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-14)

Chieri overpowers Bergamo, crashing 3-0 at PalaFenera. First set in which the guest reception sinks the attack (7% efficiency), which crashes into the local wall. With Mlenkova and Cesè Montalvo in serious difficulty, Parisi tries with the bench, but the hill players have more energy and Kunzler and Nemeth dominate in attack. Chieri is superior in every phase, destroys her opponents at a distance (especially with the block), and reaches Novara and Scandicci in the rankings: dreaming costs nothing, especially when playing like this. For Bergamo, third away defeat in three away matches.

Chieri: Nemeth 20 points, Muri team 14 (Gray 6), Ace team 3.

Bergamo: Kipp 9 points, Muri team 3, Ace team 1.
