A freight ship that wanted to sail from Groningen to the City Business Park in Assen was unable to continue this afternoon. A bridge over the Havenkanaal failed to work.
Near the Marsdijk district the skipper could not sail any further. Because there were no places in the area where he could moor his ship, he tied the boat under the bridge.
It is unknown when the bridge will be repaired.
