Ajax has suffered another heavy defeat in the Champions League. Chelsea defeated coach John Heitinga’s team 5-1 in the pouring rain at Stamford Bridge. Critics outside the club have doubted Heitinga’s performance several times.
Ajax played with ten players from the fifteenth minute, after a red card for Kenneth Taylor. Chelsea led 4-1 at halftime. Marc Guiu and Moisés Caicedo made it 1-0 and 2-0. Enzo Fernández and Estêvão took two penalties for the home team. Wout Weghorst scored from the penalty spot for Ajax when 2-0 down.
Tyrique George scored the fifth goal for Chelsea after the break. After three defeats, Ajax is in 36th and last place in the main tournament of the Champions League.
