The German record champions take an early lead against the Belgian club – thanks to a top talent who is going straight into the record lists.

A magic solo, a left hammer into the right corner – that’s how you write football history: With his brilliant opening goal for FC Bayern against Club Brugge (5th), Lennart Karl became Munich’s youngest goalscorer in the Champions League.

At just 17 years and 242 days, the exceptional talent is around four months younger than Jamal Musiala when he scored his debut goal. The currently injured national player scored for the first time on February 23, 2021 in a 4-1 win against Lazio Rome.

“There is no pressure on him to perform today,” coach Vincent Kompany said before the game on DAZN about Karl, who was rotated into the starting eleven after the 2-1 win in the Bundesliga classic against Borussia Dortmund. What did he wish for? “Goal danger,” said the coach – and was immediately heard.
