The leading actresses of Gooische Vrouwen, the drama series by Linda de Mol, drink a lot. We recently heard Angela de Jong chattering in RTL Tonight that in a few years’ time, alcohol use on television will be seen as completely unacceptable, in any form. Yet Linda and her colleagues do not care about this yet.

The alcohol consumption of the ladies is according to the A.D heavily scrutinized by fans. Do they think it is really necessary to reach for the bottle during every conversation? “Not a drop will be drunk this season,” laughs actress Lies Visschedijk. “No, just kidding of course. We like a stiff drink.”
According to her, they are not going to change that. “If you are never allowed to do anything in series that is not good for you, then it becomes a bit of a killer.”
Problematic
Actress Susan Visser recognizes the image that there is a lot of drinking on television, but: “We also show the problematic sides of this. In this season, for example, we judge Claire’s drinking behavior, but then you see the girls drinking again. I find that very funny, because it is so hypocritical.”
And Linda de Mol herself finally: “And that might actually work better than if we all went to zero and everything suddenly had to be politically correct. There is also some swearing. It’s not all within the lines, but if we were to take it all out, it would be a very boring series.”
