Fruit and vegetable wholesaler Jager Holland in Emmen is taken over by industry colleague Postuma AGF in IJsselmuiden. The work will be transferred to that location. This means that Hunter Holland disappears from Emmen. The company was founded around 1900.
At the beginning of this month, the company in Emmen was declared bankrupt after a number of financially difficult years. This also applies to sister company WTG Logistics, which arranges transport for wholesalers.
The wholesaler in IJsselmuiden takes over both companies in Emmen. The 53 employees of Jager Holland can also participate. “But the question remains whether everyone wants to go in that direction,” says Jeroen Spranger, who was appointed as curator after the bankruptcy.
The curator does not expect that the large business premises on Maxwellstraat in Emmen will remain vacant for long. “This was a rental location and there are already people interested in it from the transport sector. The location is very favorable for transports to Scandinavia.”
The curator is happy with the quick restart. “The interest was very high, there were 47 takeover candidates,” said Spranger.
