At the end of July, the textile manufacturer Plauener Seidenweberei GmbH filed for bankruptcy, and proceedings were opened on October 1st. Insolvency administrator Dirk Herzig hopes to find new investors for the traditional Saxon company.

“The goal is that the silk weaving mill can continue to be active on the global market from Plauen in the future. With a partner who believes in the potential of the company and its products, we can achieve this,” explained Herzig, according to a statement from his law firm Schultze & Braun published on Tuesday. “I am very pleased that there is interest in taking over the Plauen silk weaving mill and makes me confident.”

According to the statement, the company, which specializes in the production of high-quality silk fabrics, is “continuing its business operations in full”. Several customers have sent the company “larger orders in the last few weeks, so that production is well utilized until the beginning of next year.”

Insolvency administrator Braun was also able to announce further progress. “In parallel to the discussions with potential investors, we managed to set up the company in such a way that the wages and salaries of around 20 highly qualified employees can now be generated from ongoing business operations,” he explained.
