The Ghent Court of Appeal on Monday confirmed the acquittal of a man in his sixties from Aalst who was prosecuted for the sexual abuse of his eight-year-old niece with an intellectual disability. The man was also acquitted at first instance, because the court found there was insufficient evidence.
