Piastri leads, Norris has come very close but it is the Red Bull phenomenon that is now scaring the McLaren couple: the situation
F1 World Championship reopened after the Austin weekend. Max Verstappen’s victory in the Sprint and in the US GP makes the McLaren pair tremble, because the reigning Red Bull champion has now moved to 40 points behind the leader Oscar Piastri, with Lando Norris who in turn has closed on his teammate and is now at -14. There are five weekends left until the end of the 2025 World Championship, of which two with the Sprint formula, therefore 141 points: Mexico (24-26 October); Brazil (Sprint, 7-9 November); Las Vegas (November 20-22); Qatar (Sprint, 28-30 November); Abu Dhabi (5-7 December). But while Verstappen races “alone”, the McLaren pair risks taking points away from each other by having to fight for the Drivers’ title in an internal head-to-head.
