The trophy given to the Italian for winning the Six Kings Slam is entirely made of 24-carat gold
A precious trophy, it must be said. Not so much for the symbolic value in this case, but for the real value. Let’s talk about the golden racket received by Jannik Sinner as a reward for his victory in the Six King Slam. Yes, because the racket is not just golden as you might think but is completely made of solid gold.
It is a work specially commissioned by Riyad Season (the structure that organizes and hosts the sporting and non-sporting events that enliven the capital of Saudi Arabia, attracting tourists from all over the world). The racket is made of 4 kilos of 24 karat gold (worth well over 400,000 euros), 10 people worked on it for a total of 164 hours of work for an entirely handmade work.
