FC Bayern supporters spoke out with unequivocal slogans against a possible return of Jerome Boateng during the club’s 2-1 (1-0) win in the top game against Borussia Dortmund.
At the end of September, coach Vincent Kompany offered the 2014 world champion to join the Munich team. Boateng reveals he wants to become a coach. He has already completed the B license, the A license and the football teacher are to follow.
The reason for the protests by Bayern supporters is a recent ruling by the Munich I Regional Court from July 2024. Boateng was found guilty of intentional simple bodily harm to his ex-girlfriend. However, he is not legally considered to have a criminal record. He himself has always denied the allegations.
Banners read: “No stage for perpetrators”
On the banners that the fans unfurled during the win against BVB at the beginning of the second half, the fans wrote, among other things: “Whoever gives the perpetrator space bears his guilt”or “No stage for perpetrators”.

Boateng reported at the beginning of the week that he had already spoken to Kompany. “I can sit in at Bayern and I’m really looking forward to it. We just have to find the right time.”he told “Bild”. The 37-year-old played for the German record champions from 2011 to 2021. He was under contract with Linzer ASK until the summer.
Sports director Eberl: “It’s not about a job”
An FC Bayern spokesman told “Bild” on Friday (October 17, 2025): “Jerome asked the coach if he could watch our training sessions on a few days. That’s not a job. If the coach promises him that and the timing fits, we have nothing against it.” The club did not respond to a request from Sportschau.
After the win against BVB sports director Max Eberl spoke about Boateng and his possible return to Munich. “It’s not about a job, not about a permanent position at FC Bayern”Eberl clarifies. “It’s about watching training sessions and deciding whether this can be a path for him in the future.” When asked about the fans’ protests, Eberl said he wanted to “Don’t comment on it in depth at all.”
