The exhibition about the New Year’s fire opened in the Volendam Museum. This New Year will be 25 years ago that the fire claimed the lives of fourteen young people in café Het Hemeltje.
The exhibition also focuses on the 200 young people who were injured during the fire. The exhibition is an initiative to ensure that the fire is not forgotten after 25 years. In addition to the fire itself, the exhibition is also about how the young people who were injured, often with burns, continued with their lives after the fire.
