She has had a successful career and is now taking the next step in her private life: Dinah Eckerle is becoming a mother for the second time.
Dinah Eckerle didn’t just guard the goal for the German national handball team. The Leonberg native was also successful in her clubs, most recently at Thüringer HC, and also won the European Cup with them this year. After the end of her career, a particularly nice challenge awaits Eckerle: The 30-year-old announced on Instagram that she is becoming a mother for the second time.
Eckerle posted a snapshot on her special day. This shows two small pairs of Adidas sneakers lying on a carpet next to an ultrasound image. The sports shoes are white with pink stripes – apparently intended for a little girl. The influencer added several heart and bow emojis to indicate gender.
She wrote: “30 and I couldn’t be more blessed.” In another photo, Eckerle can be seen in profile and with a baby bump. There were numerous congratulations under the post, including from former handball player Shenia Franz.
Eckerle already has a daughter named Ida Mavie. This was born in March 2023. Now she can expand her “girl gang”, as she announced with a hashtag under her post.
Eckerle played for Thüringer HC in her youth and also played for Ditzingen and Hemmingen. As a professional, she played for SG BBM Bietigheim, as well as in Metz and for the Danish club Esbjerg before returning to Thuringia. The goalkeeper played 79 games for the German national team and scored three goals.
