Jack White is dead. The German hit producer died at the age of 85. As several media reports, White was found dead in his villa in Berlin’s Grunewald on Thursday (October 16, 2025). The police discovered a gun next to him in the bedroom. The criminal police then started investigating and initiated a death investigation – this is reported by the “Picture“-Newspaper.
Accordingly, the emergency call is said to have been received on Thursday morning, apparently from the producer’s close personal environment. Shortly afterwards, emergency services arrived at the house and found White lifeless in his bedroom, but any help came too late. According to the tabloid, his housekeeper found White.
Jack White: Police suspect suicide
A spokeswoman for the Berlin police said that, based on the current status of the investigation, it was believed to be a suicide. Any third-party negligence is currently being ruled out. The body was taken to the coroner’s office and will be examined there. The criminal police’s investigation into the producer’s death continues.
Successful hit producer
Jack White was born Horst Nußbaum in Cologne in 1940. After a short career as a football player at Viktoria Köln and PSV Eindhoven, he finally switched to the music industry, where he became one of the most successful hit producers in Germany. As a composer and producer, he wrote hits for artists such as Tony Marshall, Jürgen Marcus, Heino and David Hasselhoff, among others. His greatest successes include “Schöne Maid”, “A new love is like a new life”, “Looking for Freedom” and the World Cup song “Football is our life”. In total, White received more than 400 gold and platinum awards throughout his career.
