The 33-year-old Olde Kalter started brutally with a break, but Littler already came back from behind against many opponents on Wednesday and that was not immediately a problem against the Hengelo player.
For Littler it was then a case of make and break. He quickly ran away to 4-1, partly due to a 152 finish. A comeback in the other direction was therefore not for Olde Kalter, who can look back on his tournament with an excellent feeling despite an 8-2 defeat.
Jermaine Wattimena
Olde Kalter was paired with fellow countryman Jermaine Wattimena in the semi-finals. He made a break early and never got into trouble again. In fact, Olde Kalter ran further away and won 7-3.

Wattimena defeated Chris Dobey in his quarter-final after a great comeback (5-3 behind): 6-5. Olde Kalter, so only number 140 in the world, was too strong for Nathan Aspinall. Aspinall had impressed on Tuesday with two nine-darters in one day.
Wessel Nijman
Wessel Nijman also reached the last eight, but had to admit his superiority in Stephen Bunting: 6-2. Raymond van Barneveld had a worse day, he was out in the first round.
