Tonight there will be protests again in Houten and Uithoorn against the arrival of asylum seeker centers. Tension is running high, especially in Uithoorn: Dutch flags are flying everywhere, but is it intended as a statement of support for the resistance? It is striking that the tricolor has recently been seen more and more often at demonstrations throughout the country, from farmers’ protests to anti-asylum actions. What does this trend say about the Netherlands today? And what does that flag even mean? We put the question to D66 leader Rob Jetten, he is in News of the Day.
