Strong performance, strong ratings: The German national team’s World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland attracted millions to their screens.

The German national team not only impressed in terms of sport, but also reached large numbers of television audiences. In the 1-0 World Cup qualifying win against Northern Ireland on Monday evening, an average of 7.93 million people watched the game on RTL in the second half – a market share of 36.8 percent.

In the particularly important target group of 14 to 49 year olds, the station’s results were even better: 1.98 million viewers from this segment ensured a market share of 41 percent.

Compared to the last international match, there was an increase in interest. The 4-0 win against Luxembourg on Friday evening in Sinsheim was watched by 7.35 million people on ARD. The market share was 31.9 percent.
