Review: Richard Groenendijk is the radiant center of heart-warming musical Hairspray

The original version of Hairspray, which advocates that everyone can be themselves, is almost forty years old. But the new Dutch version feels more urgent than ever. The excellent cast – led by Richard Groenendijk – gives the over-the-top characters a heart and soul. The audience will embrace this performance en masse.
