The construction of the new Sweetlake Wellness sauna complex in Zoetermeer has been going on for three years. The opening of the sauna village was initially planned for this summer. But that turned out not to be feasible. Can’t you wait for a day of sweating in the cave sauna or relaxing on a bed in the wellness garden? Then you have to be patient for a while.

The editorial staff of AD Zoetermeer spoke to architect Jacco Poleij from Ruimtemakers. He said that he cannot reveal too much about the content of the new wellness complex, but he did share the expected opening date.

Sweating among the koi carp

As early as 2022, Jacco told the Zoetermeer neighborhood which saunas and relaxation areas will be available. Several pavilions with saunas and relaxation areas are planned. But also sunbathing areas with relaxing chairs, a tree house and cave sauna, waterfalls, salt bath and a snow cabin. The sauna with a view of a large aquarium with koi carp is an eye-catcher.

Opening Sweet Lake Wellness

So Sweet Lake Wellness planned to open this summer. According to the architect, the installation work was delayed by three months, making the opening date unattainable. “We had an opening date that was too ambitious on a number of occasions, but we will achieve April 1. I dare say that with certainty.” Keep an eye on the neighborhood for updates!
