The match was attractive from the first minutes. Norway put the pressure on and in the fourth minute a penalty was awarded to the Norwegians. Haaland got behind the ball, but could not pass Daniel Peretz. The goalkeeper, who was still in the interest of PSV last summer, dived to the right corner and turned nicely.
Erling Haaland furious after Manchester City draw in Champions League: ‘Everyone should be angry’
Only – as the VAR concluded – the goalkeeper had left his line too early. So Haaland was given a second chance. This time the Manchester City phenomenon opted for the other angle, but once again Peretz was in the right place. The Hamburger SV goalkeeper thus became Israel’s hero early in the match. He had already made two excellent saves before Haaland’s penalty.
Norway is still far too strong
But the hero role did not last long. First the score was opened by a somewhat unfortunate own goal by Anan Khalaili. Haaland made up for his misses moments later by making it 2-0. While he polished his reputation, Peretz’s curve went in the opposite direction. Barely a minute after the 2-0, he shot the ball against his teammate Idan Nachmias under pressure from Haaland: 3-0.
To make matters worse, Nachmias also had to be replaced injured.
Norway – Israel started on Saturday at 6 p.m. The World Cup qualifying match is still underway.
