Tygo Gernandt never contacted Dianne van den Eng again, his ex-girlfriend whom he dragged through a corridor in controversial images. “Never spoken again.”
Tygo Gernandt’s image has been in ruins for a while and that mainly has to do with a video that was released earlier this year. In it we see how the actor very aggressively drags his ex-girlfriend Dianne van den Eng through the corridor of his apartment building. “Get out,” he shouts thirteen times.
Liar
Actually, it was never the intention for the video to come out, according to Dianne. “It wasn’t that I thought: I want all this to be known,” she says in the Weekend. “But I was asked to prove it, because Tygo denied it and I didn’t want to be seen as a liar.”
She continues: “So I told one journalist and he said: this is not going to happen everywhere. But it did eventually happen. When I shared that video, it was of course at a very vulnerable moment. I could no longer think completely clearly.”
Not alone
According to Dianne, she was not Tygo’s only victim. “At first I didn’t think: I’m going to do this on my own. I did sit with people who said: ‘Okay, let’s all do this together.’ But I was the one who finally did it on her own.”
“But the intention was to ensure that people are warned about his behavior and that it does not happen to women again.”
No contact
Has Tygo ever been heard from again? “No. We never spoke to each other again. (…) We both blocked each other on everything. So the peace is there and I would like to keep it that way.”
Had she hoped for an apology? “I didn’t expect that, because he was never the person to make excuses. I don’t think he experienced it that way either. I don’t know. It’s also better that I don’t hear him anymore. Peace has returned.”
